More Flash Flooding for already devastated Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.
A flash flood emergency is in effect for the entire island of Puerto Rico as torrents of rain stemming from Hurricane Maria continues to stream across this US territory. Intense rain extending well south of Maria’s Center were lashing out most of the Dominican Republic and parts of Puerto Rico. There’s also a 24-hour curfew in effect. At least 7 people have died and confirmed in the hard-hit Dominican Republic. This death toll is expected to increase while workers attempt to restore parts of the Puerto Rican island. Almost 90% of the buildings and structures in the Dominican are report to be damaged or destroyed.
